Girls Rugby 2022-2023 Season

The Tetbury Rugby girls young section, U12’s and U14’s play with a focus on inclusion, developing skills and enjoyment for all children. The U11’s are highly encouraged to participate in mixed rugby as well as the girls provision on offer. They train during the week and have fixtures on set Sundays throughout the season
 

We are in our early stages of girls rugby at Tetbury RFC and would strongly encourage all players along to join a friendly, caring and curious team of players who most importantly enjoy their rugby.

The girls rugby coaching team consists of male and female coaches along with a team manager for each age group.

Signing Up / Membership

On Friday 16th September we will be having a membership sign up alongside the usual training.

A copy of the Mini’s/Girls membership form 2022-23 is also available on our website www.tetburyrfc.com  under the Documents section.

Clothing / Kit

For the first 2 training sessions children are not obliged to wear the Tetbury Rugby kit.

Our kit supplier is Bateman’s (of Stroud) www.batemanssports.co.uk who stock the full kit for all ages.

As part of the membership every other year each player from U9s upwards receive a new Tetbury Rugby top as part of their annual membership, these are paid for by our fantastic Sponsors, this will next occur in the 2023-24 Season, these tops are usually distributed in October/November to paid up members. For the younger Age Groups a free gift will be provided during the season.

Players will require rugby boots and for the U9s and over mouth guards are required, helmets etc. are optional and up to the child and parents.

Location / Parking / Facilities

Training sessions and matches for the Girls are held at Sir William Romney School (SWR) Tetbury, Gloucestershire GL8 8AE or The Recreational Ground (REC), Hampton Street, Tetbury, GL8 8JN.

Parking is available at SWR next to the Sports Centre, which is accessed at the end of Lowfield Road, Tetbury with overflow parking on busy match days available at Tesco’s which is just a short walk away from the school. Parking is also available at the REC.

Each Age Group’s playing area will be clearly marked on the school field by our Age Group flags.

Our onsite Café at SWR, which will be open for training and home matches, serves local Jessie Smith hotdogs, soup, coffee, tea and a selection of other snacks and drinks.

Full details of each Sunday’s plans will be provided each week via your Age Group administrator and updated weekly on the website home page, should for any reason training or matches be cancelled due to weather etc. this will be updated on the website, so please check.
